As an author

Sarah’s passion for shaping the future of corporate America and the need for a generational shift in how we view the workforce has led her to a new medium—books. Inspired by the evolving perspectives of her two stepchildren entering the workforce in their twenties and her two young daughters, who will begin their careers 20 years from now, Sarah’s experiences have found their way into the bookstore.

Sarah’s journey through Corporate America, combined with becoming a mother to two young children at the height of her career, has provided her with a perspective on work, life, and the future of work that is highy relatable to professional women and men alike. Balancing leadership with the challenges and joys of motherhood forced Sarah to rethink how we define success, productivity, and career fulfillment. This personal experience has driven her to share these insights—not just with those navigating similar career paths, but also with her daughters and step-children, who will shape the workforce of tomorrow.

In her soon-to-be-published book, No Small FEAT: Work, Women, and the Future of Work (Fall 2025), Sarah offers insights into harnessing the potential of independent knowledge workers in corporate America. Drawing from her extensive career, She explores how we can move beyond the performative and less-effective DE&I actions of the past and create lasting change in the workplace.

In addition to her work reshaping the modern workforce, Sarah ingeniously extends her perspective to the next generation through her children's series, Tiny FEATs (The first of 8 books launching in the spring of 2025). This series celebrates the boundless potential and influence of mothers, offering young readers a glimpse into the extraordinary contributions women make—both at home and in the world—through the adoring eyes of their children. With captivating stories and vibrant illustrations by Ukrainian artist Yelyzaveta Serdiuk, Tiny FEATs fosters an early appreciation for the power of ambition, resilience, and the many ways mothers shape the future.

"Now is the most pivotal moment in corporate America’s history to confront evolving workforce dynamics, the rise of AI, and the divisive debate over the successes and colossal failures of performative DE&I efforts." — Sarah Broderick

No Small FEAT: Work, Women and the Hidden Workforce

In No Small FEAT, Sarah Broderick challenges corporate America to confront its outdated workforce structures and unlock the potential of an overlooked talent pool—experienced, highly skilled professionals, primarily women, who have been sidelined due to rigid career expectations.

Drawing from her own executive experience and in-depth research, Broderick exposes the logistical conflicts that penalize career gaps, the performative nature of the ineffective DE&I initiatives of the last decade, and the persistent myths about ambition and leadership. She offers a bold, operational roadmap—The FEAT Framework—to modernize workplace policies, normalize nonlinear career paths, and rethink corporate governance.

With fresh insights on the impact of AI, shifting workplace expectations, and the evolving role of men in work and family life, No Small FEAT is both a rallying cry and a strategic blueprint for building a more inclusive, innovative, and future-ready workforce.

A must-read for business leaders, policymakers, and anyone seeking to redefine success in the modern workplace.

Tiny FEATs Series

Mama has always been a leader. She’s a teacher, a coach, a doctor, and a captain. Her history of leadership has fueled her success, both at home and in the workplace—and her children share in her accomplishments each and every day.

The Tiny FEATs children’s book series is an energetic, read-aloud celebration of everything that moms can do and be.  The stories are told from the perspective of Mama’s children and their interactions with her as both family caregiver and woman of leadership and influence. The complexities of Mama’s multi-dimensional role are simplified through the eyes and voice of her observant children as they recall the various “mamas” they have encountered through their friends and their own experiences. Why would it be complicated? Of course Mamas can do anything!

The series addresses the labels that are often applied to women, categorizing them as either Stay-at-Home Mom or Working Mother. This gender patterning begins at an unsettlingly early age. In order to truly normalize women in positions of leadership in relation to their roles as mothers, children need consistent exposure early on in life. In Tiny FEATs, children are shown that mama isn’t “either/or”—she’s “and.”

The first two books of the series are illustrated by Ukrainian artist Yelyzaveta Serdiuk.

To be published Spring 2025: The series starts out with Soccer Mama, told from the perspective of Mama’s son. The title alludes to the assumption that Mama will play the traditional role of minivan chauffeur. But the story slowly unfolds to reveal that Mama is in fact the coach of the winning team—a position of leadership and authority that is not common among athletic teams, even at the youth level.

Next in the series is Doctor Mama, where Mama’s middle daughter is delighted by how many women in her life are doctors—and not just the kind that practice medicine. From scientists to teachers, musicians to veterinarians, many Mamas have ascended to the highest platforms within their professions.
